
HR Generalist

NEMR Total HR is hiring an HR Generalist to support our multi-site/state client HR partners. The ideal candidate will preferably possess at least five years’ experience with employee relations, policy creation and compliance background. A successful individual in this position will become a knowledgeable liaison between NEMR Total HR and a multitude of clients, employees, and vendors.
Responsibilities of the Human Resource Generalist:
- Serve as a trusted HR partner, directly engaging with clients and their employees to address a variety of human resource questions and challenges.
- Support and coordinate client HR initiatives, including employee trainings, new legal rollouts, handbook updates, job descriptions, benchmarking, and more.
- Conduct employee investigations and handle employee relations matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Process and maintain employee Leave of Absence requests in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of client HR policies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental, labor, legal, and reporting requirements.
- Provide guidance and act as a resource for HR policies and best practices.
- Travel locally to client sites for weekly visits (no overnight travel required).
Requirements of the Human Resource Generalist:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ HR Generalist experience.
- Proven experience in employee relations, including coaching, mentoring, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and procedures.
- In-depth understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including leave and accommodations.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Highly organized with excellent administrative, recordkeeping, and time management abilities.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time hybrid position
- Monday's and Friday's are remote optional with core, in-office days being Tuesday thru Thursday
- Work hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday thru Thursday and 8:00am - 4:00pm on Friday
- Team members have every other Friday off
Salary:
- $57,000 - $67,000 annually
